A day of calm in Owen's journey, marked by support, love, and resilience amidst treatment.

Today (March 1st) unfolded like a gentle pause in our tumultuous journey, a lazy Sunday on a Friday, offering us a moment of calm not dictated by the usual flurry of hospital visits or the transient homes we've found in various hotels over the last few days. It was a day marked not by the hustle of medical appointments or the logistics of our temporary accommodations but by the calm that envelops any family caught in a battle they never chose.

Owen's energy was notably low today, a reminder of the invisible fight his little body wages internally at every moment. His day oscillated between complaints of pain and tiredness, punctuated by unexpected surges of his usual insatiable appetite. These moments, though challenging, are becoming familiar waypoints on this journey, signaling not just the toll of his treatment but also the resilience of his spirit.

We've started noticing his hair thinning — a foreshadowing of the total hair loss — and his cheeks are beginning to puff up. It's a poignant reminder of the potency of his treatments, a physical marker of the journey he's on. This transformation, while expected, is a visual reminder of the complexities of battling his Leukemia. Weight gain and physical changes are signs of progress rather than reasons for concern.

In the evening, we had brief calls with Nana and Papa, moments of connection that bridged the physical distance between us. These conversations, though short, are threads that weave the fabric of support surrounding Owen — even if he doesn’t have the energy to speak back to them.

A heartening news brightened our evening: "Fore for Four" selected Owen for a fundraiser this coming July. And unexpectedly, the news of Owen's Dad's friends and former work colleagues organizing a fundraiser this Sunday, March 3rd, where half the profits from any educational course purchased on their website will go to our GoFundMe, left us speechless.

The magnitude of support from friends, family, and even strangers is overwhelming. It's a powerful testament to the goodness in people's hearts, a beacon of light in our darkest times.

As we close another day on this journey, our hearts are heavy with the reality of Owen's battle but buoyed by the outpouring of love and support we've received. There are no words to express the depth of our gratitude, no way to articulate the strength that this collective embrace provides fully. In the quiet moments, in the whispers of encouragement, we find the strength to face another day, continue fighting, and keep hoping. For Owen and all those who stand with us, we move forward, one day at a time.
